Results of the DNA tests conducted by a UK laboratory for proper identification of those killed in the Associated Airline plane crash are ready, a consultant said.
Dr Francis Faduyile, a Consultant Pathologist, Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday that the results were delivered to LASUTH on Thursday.
Faduyile said that relatives of victims have started picking up the corpses of their loved ones.
"The DNA results have arrived in the country and family members and relatives can come for the corpses as they are ready for collection."
Meanwhile, NAN reports that some relatives of the victims had crowded the Lekan Ogunsola Memorial House, the LASUTH mortuary, to collect the remains of their loved ones.
It would be recalled that an Associated Airline plane conveying the corpse of former Governor of Ondo State, Chief Olusegun Agagu, crashed shortly after take-off at the Murtala Mohammed Airport on October 3.
It was to convey the corpse from Lagos to Akure for burial.
